Intro to Shoreditch

Always about location, Shoreditch is outside the city walls of London. Shoreditch history believes its name came from the water that run across the areas marshland and it was known originally as Soersditch or sewers ditch. However in today’s world its a hive of regeneration!

Getting there

  • So based in London, its about 12 minutes from St Pancras Underground Station (Kings Cross) to Shoreditch on the tube by getting on the Northern Line.
  • Or, from Victoria Station to Shoreditch would be around 26 minutes on the tube.
  • You will notice we have used trains as the most efficient method of getting around London and if you are visiting lots of other places in London the most cost effective way to get around will be to buy a day pass for the tube.

What to do

  • Box Park- a foodies paradise lots of pop up shops to satisfy all kind of tastes. As well as an array of fashion, homeware stores and upcoming designers use this area to sell the lines. Lots of different one of a kind shops here!
  • Street Art – you wander round a corner and there are some amazing artworks as seen in some of the photos in this blog! Some by Banksy and other world famous artists have decorated this area. There are also tours you can go on, which are good and affordable, if you don’t want to miss any.
  • Markets – there are a few and the most well known ones are Old Spitafields Market home to over 50 Independent and large sellers from every day fashion to vintage and the food also has such diversity. Brick Lane Market is open every Sunday from 9-5. Soak up the atmosphere with a mixture of great curry, street art and bagels and a good Sunday wander around. All tastes catered for.
  • If you want a bar there lots to choose from rooftop to traditional.
